Death of Newborns: CM Punjab Buzdar takes notice of Sahiwal incident

LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar has taken notice of the incident where three newborn babies died at the District Head Quarters (DHQ) Hospital in Sahiwal on Sunday after the air conditioner ran down in the nursery.


The CM has asked the authorities to submit a detailed report after investigating the matter. He said a strict action would be taken against those responsible for the tragic incident.


He said Punjab government stands with the grieved families at this moment of sorrow.


Earlier,the family members of the newborns staged protest against the hospital administration and accused that the incident occurred due to negligence. The hospital management confirmed the deaths of three babies.


On the other hand, Sahiwal Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mian Zaman Wattoo took notice of the incident and ordered to investigate the matter. He also paid an emergency visit to the hospital and directed to provide all facilities at the children ward.
