“CPEC would serve as a vital link for the two countries, to the Middle East and Central Asian Republics and being part of the Belt and Road Initiative, it would safeguard their common objectives.”
Prime Minister Imran Khan lauded the vision of President Xi Jinping who said “the doors of China will always remain open”.
‘Pakistan has an array of resources, minerals and renewables amidst the most diverse landscape’, said Mr. Khan
Imran Khan said his government in Pakistan has initiated deep and meaningful reforms to ensure transparency and accountability and provide ‘seamless smart solutions for the government and the people’.
He was of the view that his government came to power with a slogan to bring about change in the country.
PM Khan recalled that his party ran campaign before the general elections to aware masses about the ‘much-needed change’ to steer the country out of crisis.
Mr Khan also expressed his gratitude to the government of China for the warm hospitality and participation in the Shanghai Expo.
Earlier in his address, Chinese President Xi Jinping said China’s initiative to expand imports was not a makeshift, but long-term consideration of embracing the world and future while promoting common development.
China will not close its door to the world and will only become more and more open, President Xi said.
He said China would push forward multilateral and bilateral cooperation in pursuit of development. “All countries should be committed to opening-up and oppose protectionism and unilateralism in a clear-cut stand,” he added.
He called upon all the countries to stick to innovation and accelerate the transition with traditional growth drivers being replaced by new ones.
