ISLAMABAD: Chief of the Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa called on Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday, said a statement released by the Army’s media wing.
Director General Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Lieutenant General Naveed Mukhtar also accompanied the army chief.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), national security and regional stability were discussed.
Earlier on September 3, ahead of a crucial visit by the US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to Pakistan, PM Imran and the COAS held a meeting to discuss US-Pakistan relations in the backdrop of a spat between Islamabad and Washington.
Gen Bajwa had also called on the prime minister on August 27 to congratulate him on assuming office, which was their first meeting after the formation of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-led (PTI) government.
The top military commander also attended Imran’s swearing in ceremony on August 18 while their first formal meeting was held in 2017 when the PTI chairman visited Bajwa to congratulate him on his appointment as COAS.
