BAP to form govt in Balochistan, says President BAP Kamal

President Balochistan Awami Party (BAP), Jam Kamal has said that his party will form government in the province with the cooperation of coalition partners.


Addressing a news conference in Quetta, he said the elected representatives who won the recent election in independent capacity have expressed the desire to join his party and the party leadership is seriously considering their offer.


Replying to a query, Kamal expressed satisfaction over the general elections which were held in a fully fair, impartial and transparent manner.


On this occasion, an independent MPA-elect candidate from Balochistan announced to join BAP.


It is pertinent to mention here that the Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) has emerged as a leading party in the province of Balochistan in 2018 general elections.


According to results issued by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), the BAP came out on top in the province securing 439,635 votes in the polls, while independents came in second after securing 318,787 votes.


The religious parties’ alliance Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) ranked third in the province with 261,742 votes while the Balochistan National Party secured fourth position with 126,854 votes.


However, Imran Khan led Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) managed to receive 109,488 votes and finished as the fifth most popular party in the province.


Pakistan People’s Party led by Bilawal Bhutto received 57,663 votes while Shehbaz Sharif-led Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz secured just 28,922 votes in the polls.


Overall the PTI leads the National Assembly (NA) tally with 116 seats with PML-N coming in second with 64 seats, and PPP ranking third with 43 seats.


Moreover, MMA bagged 13 NA seats, tying with 13 independents who also won the seats.
