
Newly elected members of provincial assembly (MPAs) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Sindh will go into secret balloting for selection of speaker and deputy speaker today.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has nominated Mushtaq Ahmed Ghani for slot of KP Assembly’s speaker and Mahmood Jaan for slot of deputy speaker. Laiq Mohammad and Jamshed Mohammad have been nominated for the aforementioned slots respectively by the opposition.
On the other hand, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zaradari has nominated Agha Siraj Durrani for the speaker’s role and Rehana Leghari as deputy speaker in Sindh Assembly.
Earlier on August 13, inaugural sessions of both the assemblies were held. During the sessions, newly elected members of the provincial assemblies took oath from outgoing speaker.
