SC took no suo motu notice on any political case: CJP

LAHORE: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar said all the suo motu notices taken by the Supreme Court were about basic human rights and no one was on any political case.

“All courts, including the Supreme Court, are guardian of constitution and the law,” he said while speaking at an event in Lahore on Friday. He said all parties had accept the jurisdiction of the court in political cases.

He said that he country needs unity. “Solidarity of the country is the most important thing. We all have to make the country Quaid’s Pakistan.

He said that he had seen in Balchostan people living in palaces were talking about rights of the poor. “I will also visit Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,” he said, adding that nothing had been done for provision of water, health, education, energy and other basic rights of the people.

He said that judicial reforms were impossible without obsolescence of outdated laws and training of judges.
