Umar Amin showed his class by scoring fighting … runs to take his side over teh victory line single-handedly against Lahore Qalandars in the eighth match Pakistan Super League (PSL) season four at Dubai International Stadium on Sunday.
Amin took just 38 balls to score a worthy inning which included 10 hits to the fence and a six. Bowlers of Zalmi laid a solid foundation for their team to wrap up an easy win.
Coming out to bat first, Qalandars batsmen were not in a mood to stick at the crease as their wickets were fallen after regular intervals.
Hasan Ali in the third over removed Fakhar Zaman who failed to tackle a short ball and edged it high up in the sky which went straight in the hands of Umaid Asif. Sohail Akhtar was the other victim of Hasan who amused the crowd celebrating in his own style.
De Villers then tried to build some momentum for his team hitting the ball through uppercut to the boundary but the next ball was a nightmare for him as Hasan with immense pace beaten the world’s top batsman. A ball on good length off Hasan went straight to thrash the stumps and sent De Villiers back to the pavilion after scoring just 14 runs.
Anton Devcich was the highest scorer for Lahore Qalandars with 18 runs but fell to Pollard who finished with the figures of 1-10.
In reply, Zalmi seemed a bit shaky as Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf brought early breakthroughs for their team.
Afridi got rid of Kamran Akmal who was failed to get off the mark while Rauf sent off Imam-ul-Haq for nought. Later, Amin took responsibility and smashed the ball in all parts of the ground.
Afridi, Rauf and Rahat Ali bagged one wicket each for Qalandars.
