Presented best budget within available resources, Said CM Murad Shah

KARACHI: Chief Minister of Sindh (CM) Murad Ali Shah on Saturday has said that the provincial government had presented best possible budget within available resources.

Addressing a post-budget conference in Karachi, the CM said that the federation has cut the money from the budget for the province however, we will not tolerate any discrimination, he added.

Murad Ali Shah said that Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) strictly opposes political revenge as its co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari was arrested before the budget while his sister Faryal Talpur was taken into custody on the budget announcement day.

He further condemned the role of opposition parties in Sindh and said that they are not willing to accept the budget.

Earlier, while presenting the budget, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said that province’s revenue targets were revised from Rs243.082 billion to Rs240.746 billion.

He said that the PPP focused its energies towards serving the people, the current government seems to have no interest in actual work.

With a record shortfall of almost 447 billion in 11 months, FBR performance reached an all-time low during the last one year, he told.

Consequently, Sindh has been deprived of its due share and we are enduring a shortfall of Rs.117.5 billion (BE basis) owing entirely to the federal government, the minister stated.
