Nawaz, Maryam convicted on basis of assumptions, says Shehbaz

LAHORE: Former Punjab CM and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Wednesday said that the entire Lahore will pour on streets on the return of former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz as they were convicted on the basis of assumptions.

Addressing workers convention in Lahore on Wednesday, he said that the honorable judge wrote in the judgement’s page 171 that no charges of corruption were proved against the former PM.

Shehbaz said that hundreds of cases are pending in NAB courts for the 10 years, adding that the decisions have not yet been announced in cases in which billions of rupees corruption is involved.

The ex-Punjab CM said that the PML-N has worked tirelessly in the province and completed projects with transparency.

“Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz have been summoned in the court for 109 times,” he said and added they reject the accountability court verdict if this is the level of justice.

The PML-N-led government has eradicated loadshedding from the country by adding thousands of megawatt electricity in the national grid, he added.

Shehbaz Sharif said that it is not justified to suspend the local bodies representatives.

Criticizing the PTI, the PML-president said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government failed to complete the Peshawar Metro Bus project, adding that they were called ‘Dengue Brothers’ when the disease spread in Punjab.
