IHC CJ: Justice Athar Minallah takes oath as new Islamabad High Court chief justice

ISLAMABAD: Justice Athar Minallah on Wednesday took oath as new Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court (IHC).

 

President Dr Arif Alvi administered the oath of Justice Minallah in a ceremony held at President House in Islamabad.

 

He succeeded Justice Mohammad Anwar Khan Kasi, who retired on November 27, after serving as the chief justice of IHC for seven years, 10 months and 23 days.

 

On November 1, Judicial Commission of Pakistan (SJC) chaired by Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Mian Saqib Nisar had recommended Justice Minallah as the new IHC chief justice, which was approved by President Arif Alvi on November 14.
