Half of the PSL 4 matches to be held in Pakistan next year

The Pakistan Super League (PSL) was quite a success this year. Although it started off on a slow note, the league picked up quickly and provided the fans with some breath-taking games. The Final of the PSL will be played tomorrow (March 25) in Karachi between Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi. Owing to the great success this year, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is now planning to host half of the matches next year in the country.

PCB chairman Najam Sethi has revealed that they have received a green signal to hold half of the fourth edition of the PSL matches in Karachi and Lahore next year. Sethi, however, said that the stadiums must be prepared beforehand. Also, he mentioned that the national security has to be of top class before the proposal could take place.Sethi also said that the stadiums in Peshawar and Islamabad will be prepared soon. Speaking during a visit to Karachi’s National Stadium, he also reflected on the idea of holding double-weekend matches next year. Explaining the same, the PCB supremo put forward his plans for 2019. He said that the games on Thursday and Friday will be played in UAE while the games on Saturday and Sunday will be played in pakistan.Furthermore, the PCB chairman also said that they had no possibility of hosting any countries later this year in Pakistan. After the completion of PSL, the Windies team is set to tour Pakistan. Later on, due to a packed schedule, it wouldn’t be possible to host another series at home.The PSL final is happening in Karachi. After that, we have the West Indies series. After that, we have no more space. We’re going abroad to play, but along with this, we are trying to find a window in August or September to play five to seven matches with the West Indies and Bangladesh in Houston and Florida. But that hasn’t been finalized as yet,” the Dawn quoted Sethi as saying.
