Death of Salahuddin: CM Buzdar writes to LHC to form judicial commission, removes DPO

LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar on Thursday has written a letter to Lahore High Court (LHR) to form judicial commission to probe death of Salahuddin due to alleged torture of police.

 

As per details, CM took notice of death of Salhuddin, resident of Gujranwala, in a police cell in Rahim Yar khan. Suspect Salahuddin was arrested for ATM robberies.

 

On the other hand District and Session Judge Rahim Yar Khan has appointed senior civil judge Sheikh Fayaz as judicial inquiry officer to investigate death of Salahuddin.

 

Sources said notices have been issued to police officers, SHO, investigation officer and father of Salahuddin in this regard. Hearing on judicial inquiry would be held on September 7.

 

Moreover, CM removed DPO Rahim Yar Khan from his post and instructed him to report central police office.
