ISLAMABAD: Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Yao Jing has said that Pakistan and China were aware of challenges of the modern world.
Addressing a seminar in Islamabad on Monday, he said that Pakistan has played a vital role in war against terror and was fittingly dealing with all the challenges facing the country.
The ambassador said that investment is like oxygen for the a country’s economy, adding that China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will not only bring the two countries but the entire region close.
Four sectors would progress at a time, he said and added progress would be seen in energy, infrastructure, communication and industrial sectors.
“CPEC would also help Pakistan in overcoming energy problems and improving its economic growth through construction of roads and railways network,” he added.
Yao Jing went on to say that around 40 projects were in the pipeline under the CPEC and the economic zones were being specially focused. “Work on special economic zones is underway,” he said.
He said China wanted that private sector of Pakistan should capitalize on CPEC for growth and expansion.
